I have recently been taking the art of mixing and mastering more serious while working to attain a bachelors in audio production. I haven't worked on any projects that have released on a grand scale in terms of mixing and mastering, but I have worked hard on personal projects and have gotten stellar reviews on them by musicians and engineers alike. The skill that better represents myself is drumming, however. I have been drumming for almost a decade and have had amazing opportunities to showcase my talents across the United States. Over the last several years I've done multiple tours across the mid-western states, had a run on 2017 The Warped Tour before it sadly ended, and showcased my drumming at 2019 Winter NAMM. Currently as I work on that degree, I upload drum-related content on the internet and do fill-in work as a drummer for bands. I'm hoping to kickstart a new career here and work with some amazing musicians on their projects, whether it be through session drumming or audio engineering.
For my current home studio setup, I use a combination of a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 and a Tascam 16x08 for my audio interfaces. The one I choose to use for a session depends on the amount of inputs needed. The interfaces run into a Macbook M1 Pro and from there I have the choice to do recording, editing, mixing, or mastering on Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or FL Studio 20. I've become pretty efficient on all of them. For music production I have two midi keyboard controllers; the Akai MPK Mini & the Novation LaunchKey 25, and with them I have a nice amount of software instruments to produce some awesome sounds. For mixing and mastering I use a smooth combination of stock plugins and Slate Digital plugins. I found a happy medium between the two that gives excellent results. The drums I use is a (6-piece) Mapex Armory maple shell kit. I have two Mapex snare options; Black Panther maple or Tomahawk steel. I use all Meinl cymbals, Evans drumheads, and Promark drumsticks.
