Biography

Allie Farris’s sound might be described as a fresh mix of Sheryl Crow and Brandi Carlile, with varied influences ranging from Carole King to Norah Jones. Farris’s writing is deeply personal: at times her songs are hauntingly melodic; while others are fun and self-deprecating; still all are thought-provoking and exceptionally memorable. Over her fifteen-year career, Allie Farris has played hundreds of shows to thousands of people, opening for established artists and headlining in a wide array of clubs, venues, and festivals spanning across the US and Canada.

Allie has had great experiences in a number of songwriting competitions: She won the “Songwriter Serenade” songwriting and performance competition in LaGrange, Texas; She took second place at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival Troubadour Competition; Allie won third place at Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriter’s Showcase; she was an Emerging Artist at Falcon Ridge Folk Festival; Farris was a finalist in “NPR’s Mountain Stage NewSong Competition”, performing at New York City’s Lincoln Center. Most recently, Farris’s co-written song with artist K.S. Rhoads, “Up To You To Move The World” was featured in the 2020 joint season premiere of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19.

Award-Winning Songwriter, Lyricist, Composer, Vocalist, Voiceover Artist, and Pianist

Prices available upon request.

I record on a Shure SM7B into an Apollo Twin, a setup I've been using for years. I'm an award-winning singer/songwriter who has recorded in Nashville's most renowned studios; attended UNT and Berklee; and studied under Julie Bonk (Norah Jones), Ron Browning (Alison Krauss, Wynona Judd), and Tom Mckinney: vocal coach to Destiny's Child and PENTATONIX's Scott Hoying.

I am very versatile and can sound like most anyone you want (I have even done tracks to sound like Ed Sheeran), so please don't hesitate to ask for what you need. More samples available on request.

I work on the most up-to-date version of ProTools.

Nashville-based for ten years, but I now live in Switzerland.

One of my songs was recently featured in the January 2020 season premiere of Grey's Anatomy/Ladder 19.
