I'm a reborn musician.
25 years ago I got carpal tunnel syndrome - I could no longer play like I used to, so I pursued other interests.
Since I thought I couldn't really play anymore, I took vocal lessons a couple of years ago. Its transformed me - somehow I was not only able to learn to sing, but my guitar playing ability returned as well. I have not only recaptured my guitar playing, but can augment with my voice.
For pragmatic sake - here's a short description of my sound:
Voice: I have heard comments that my voice has similar to James Taylor and Tom Rosenthal
Guitar: I have played guitar for nearly 30 years. I play exclusively in alt tuning D C# F# E A E, I started playing this for something easy for my hands to play when I got carpal tunnel. So it gives the guitar a unique sound even though its playing all the standard chords. I used own an analogue 8 track back in the '90s and loved layering guitar parts - think Smashing Pumpkins if Corgan played only acoustic guitars.
Going forward: I've started posting the lyrics on my website DanteChase.org.
My weakness is that I am not good with DAWs (more uninterested in them). Its a rabbit hole, and I would rather spend time song writing that getting into the weeds of exact sounds. I can provide some simple demos via recorded video performance. I also have a portastudio for songs where I have fleshed out more guitar parts.
If you are producer with a good ear for sound and tone, I'd love to hear from you.
I'm a member of ASCAP if that's meaningful for anyone.
