Biography

I have been a professional musician for many years in the Canadian music industry (drums, guitar, piano, programming), as well as composer, songwriter, arranger, producer, including mixing and mastering engineer. I have collaborated with artists singed to major and national labels in Canada (Mitsou, Lynda Lemay, Tanya Tagaq, Descars, Héra Ménard) and am eager to collaborate with you!

I can program hyper-realistic drum parts (or playing them on acoustic drums with amazing sound), string parts, grand piano parts, etc. Even better if you have your MIDI parts programmed: I can adapt them to many acoustic sounds with amazing realism (drums, piano, string ensembles, etc.). Even better, I can arrange parts for you and then work with real musicians or program them according to your needs.

In fact, I am also a university professor specialized in popular music production and theory. I can help you improve your songs and their production at any stage of the creative and/or production process. I also have access to an amazing university-based recording studio and a pool of excellent musicians and musical instruments (larc.oicrm.org).

Finally, I'm looking for talent to contribute to my own productions, especially lyricists and singers.

So I hope we'll be able to work together soon!

Session Work

The rate depends on many factors: demo or finished product, acoustic or electronic music, quality of recording, deadlines, etc. It also depends on the amount of work: for example, I had to work WEEKS to edit and "tune" takes for an album, before have even started the actual mixing process. As a ballpark, I've just got 3000$ for producing an acoustic piano solo album (with rather much editing too... but just for one track per song). On the other hand, I'm also open to arrangements (publishing share for example). Basically, I'm doing:
- producing/arrangements
- editing (very good at this, meticulous)
- mixing (I'm trying to support the song's story/narrative)
- mastering (as respectful of the mix as possible with honest levels so it sounds well on all platforms)
- I can also record pristine drum tracks (on Yamaha Oak super well-tuned set)
