I am a versatile violinist and keys player (piano and keyboards) across different genres.
I was born in Italy and started studying piano and violin when I was 5. I then completed a 10 year (!) Conservatoire diploma in violin (together with piano and other subjects). I complemented my classical studies with a full-time diploma in contemporary keys at Nexus (UK). This really inspired me again to play from the heart and enjoy music! It also gave me lots of new piano and keyboard skills.
I originally played in orchestras and some ensembles, but gradually moved in to other styles-particularly soul, pop, blues, funk and some jazz.
I have played in a few function bands, electronic orchestras and currently perform with a band that covers top songs from the charts in soul/big band style (like Postmodern Jukebox). This gives me a chance to re-arrange songs and play different chart-topping hits but in a different style!
-18th century German violin for rich, mellow tones (jazz, classical, etc)
-20th century German violin for a brighter sound (folk, crossover, etc)
-Accusound violin gooseneck mic
-Golden Age R1 mk3 active ribbon mic
-Focusrite Saffire 24 DSP audio interface
-Macbook Pro with Garageband, Audacity
-Nord Stage 2 EX 88 keys piano
-Roland Juno G
-AKG 702 reference headphones
I have recorded occasionally over a number of years and more recently recorded (paid) sessions with Steve Glen (Bucks Fizz, Hot Chocolate, Gloria Gaynor) and Paul Dackombe (YellowRattle Studios) and the Nord artist Matt Cossey.
I am very flexible in terms of style and quickly come up with new ideas (riffs, improvisations and solos). Perfect pitch helps me to quickly learn/understand the underlying harmony.
Rates depend on the amount of work and the budget. I am keen to work and build up my experience so always give me shout and we can probably sort something out! :-)
I sometimes use Musician Union (UK) rates as a reference but am flexible!
