Terry Blade is an award-winning singer-songwriter. He is originally from Washington, DC, and currently resides in Chicago, IL. He has been compared to Tracy Chapman, Amos Lee, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Antony and the Johnsons. His debut EP Misery (Mastered for Headphones) was released in May 2020 following the release of his debut single The Unloveable which was released a month earlier.

​Since his debut, he has won over 30 awards and nominations for his music. The Unloveable was nominated for "Best Music: Singer/Songwriter" by the 2020 Hollywood Music In Media Awards while The Akademia Music Awards awarded Misery (Mastered for Headphones) "Best R&B/Soul EP." Clouzine Magazine's "Best Folk Song" award went to Terry for Mr. Robertson, and The Widow received the Florence Film Awards' "Best Original Song" award and the Lonely Seal Film Festival's "Best Song" award.

Terry identifies as a black queer artist, and his music has been featured and highlighted by musical outlets like Country Queer, Adobe and Teardrops, Thisis50, Yellow & Black, SwanoDown, Tinnitist, and Baron Mag. On February 5, 2021, Terry premiered his 19-track debut album American Descendant of Slavery, The Album to critical acclaim. Two weeks after its release, the album won a Gold Award for Original Music in an Audio Production from the 15th Annual 2021 AVA Digital Awards.
