Growing up in Vlissingen, in the Southwest of Holland, I dreamed of being guitar player in a rock 'n roll band.
I learned to play guitar and started out playing with a best friend on highschool and friends on the block.
Moving to Utrecht going to university in the middle of Holland, I really started to play in bands and switched from guitar to bass because nobody wanted to play bass at that time.
This was also the period I started playing in a lot of venues and tried out some selfwritten dutch cabaret programs.
Moving after my study to Amsterdam, in the north of holland, I hooked up with my old friends from Vlissingen and we started to play music for a long time together. In the meantime I had different serious music collaberations and started to get interest in open tunings.
I started to retune my guitar to self made up tunings and started to make songs over that.
In the beginning with cassette tapes, a sampler and a guitar.
From that point on music became really much more an everlasting study playing instruments like pedal steel, joining a country band.I totally got into the slide guitar, up until today.
I took up the dobro and started playing bluegrass with american friends in amsterdam. And from that going into the mandolin and the fiddle.
I became very interested in traditional music like bluegrass and delta blues, irish music, african music.
Nowadays music for me is all about experimental music and jazz. A new journey!
For me music is an everlasting journey that have brought me to beautiful places and made me meet a lot of wonderful and talented people all out through the world.
