Justin Lepard is a cello virtuoso residing in Los Angeles. He grew up in Nebraska, where he started cello at four years old. He began songwriting at thirteen, and at sixteen dedicated his life to the cello. Growing up in the midwest gave Justin a unique perspective in his musical path - as Middle America is a crossroads for all sorts of coastal cultural influences. The internet made every genre and trend accessible, but in a conceptual world as opposed to an experiential one. As such, Justin's music explores nuances of various "existential hooks" that he has felt permeate all the music he has learned - without a strict adherence to the performance norms of more densely populated areas.

Through his proficiency at jazz improvisation and contemporary classical prowess, Justin spent his early twenties traveling across North America and Europe, slowly developing his songwriting, improvisation style, and production prowess. His music is as familiar as it is innovative, pulling together classic rock sensibilities, pop chords and structures, jazzy vocals, and a psychedelic feel to the cello parts.

I use an Avantone CV-12 condenser microphone through a Presonus interface into Logic Pro X

I record fantastic cello parts for all genres of songs. These arrangements range in complexity from a few melodies and harmonies to complicated rhythms and pads. I do all the editing ahead of time so all you need to do is open WAV files into your project and start mixing! In 2018 I recorded remotely for over 70 songs, many of which were on the site Fiverr, where I developed into the highest rated cellist. Rates start at $90 per song.
