I started playing music at a very young age, first with piano lessons. I played a little flute in middle school and then moved to drums and percussion, leveraging my ability to read music and play piano to become the first chair percussionist in high school. Throughout high school, I primarily played timpani and mallets in the symphonic bands, including being invited to play in county and state bands. I also took up drum kit at that time and played in the usual assortment of bands, including the high school jazz band and the swing chorus.

From there I jumped into musical theatre, playing drums and percussion in Bye Bye Birdie, Pippin, and 1776. Throughout my musical journey, I have been in several different cover bands, mostly playing rock and popular music. The last remaining website from the “old days” is from 1130 Sunday (www.1130sunday.com). The last band I was in fell apart when the pandemic started.

About 10 years ago I switched from an acoustic kit to electronic and have started recording drum tracks for other artists.

Most recently, I played drums and percussion for the show Mamma Mia! with the Waimea Community Theatre (www.waimeacommunitytheatre.org) in May 2024. I was the sole drummer and percussionist for the show and blended two scores together to provide everything from drum kit to mark tree to timbales.

My musical tastes are primarily rock, pop, and jazz, and I’ve recently latched on to some of the newer “hard” country artists like HARDY and Royale Lynn. I continue to enjoy playing percussion for musical theatre.

I’m available for gigging, recording, and would be happy to participate in another musical production.
