As a music maker I developed my relationship with music creation at the age of 14 when I began to learn to play guitar under instructor Jsivna, eventually becoming a guitar teacher myself. After years of this, I enrolled in a multi-media degree course which allowed me to become accustomed with software such as Pro-tools and Ableton. This learning was further buttressed with the support of a close friend who was studying music engineering. Having laid down a solid foundation of knowledge of these tools, I began to make music in collaboration with the likes of Jennifer Waters of Blueberry Rouge, Clare Doran, Andrew Cummins and others.
In regards to genres, Irish Traditional Music forms the core basis to what I do, however,I also have the ability to be able to mix this with other genres such as world and pop music. I regard Donal Lunny, Michael Mc Goldrick and John Martyn to be the prime examples from which I am influenced. It's is their ability to be innovative in a contemporary sense that I particularly admire and what Iseeks to create also.
I have a range of instruments including acoustic, electric and bass guitars. A midi keyboard and piano.
