Everyone loves to play a Solo.....come on, admit it you know you do :-)

So, here's a challenge with a bit of a difference and if it works and we get some traction could form part of a series.

We're going to start with a Major Scale and the next Challenge will then be a Minor Scale.

So, this is really simple and everyone can enter individually, you don't even have to collaborate, unless you want to - all you have to do is play a solo over a C Major progression. The progression is around 40 seconds long so plenty of time to get your best chops, riffs, licks, bass lines, ohhs and ahhs out. If you want it to be longer then just cut it up and multiply it. Lyricists sorry, no words on this one, but you can play any sort of instrument to join in :-)

The chords on this progression are CMaj7 | Dmin7 | CMaj7 | Dmin7 | G | F | G | Amin7 | G | F | Emin7 | Dmin7 | CMaj7 so the C Major Scale will work perfectly.

No excuses on this one, you don't even need to get other collaborators on board, so whether you are a Vocalist, Guitarist, Bass Player, Sax, Trumpet, Synth, Keyboard, Pianist, Violin, Woodwind, Bagpipes, or any instrument at all you just have to play a solo over the progression. Vocalists, you can harmonise some ohhs and ahhs or be creative and come up with any vocal sound.

Badges, ProCollabs Credits and Kudos go to everyone who enters and if we get over 20 entries I'll also donate my $40 ProCollabs credit to the entry with the most plays when the Challenge closes.

Your solo can be fast, slow, total rock, ballad, subtle, in your face, or whatever - if you want to speed up or slow down the progression, go for it - the world's your oyster.

If you could load your entries into the Challenge Project as an audition (I will accept all of them) and we can keep them all in one place to listen to. Join in the conversation and give kudos to everyone who enters......come on everyone, let's try and get the ball rolling on this one.........  :-)

Any questions, just post them here.

I'll keep it open until for 4 weeks, so it will end on Monday 22nd July.
