With the recent release of Logic Pro 11, there's a new plugin under the Distortion menu called "ChromaGlow" that I applied to my drumkit bus; it allowed me to compress my cymbals a bit and make them more present in my mix. Also, it adds color to the tone, like an old magnetic tape deck.
