No politics. No religion. It's all about the music, people! So keep it clean, polite, and be sure to read our Community Guidelines before posting in the forum.

My time and abilities are being wasted here. I do my sincere best to contribute to people's projects. But people do not value my time and efforts. From now on my only activity here, ironically, will be solo projects if anything; I will keep an account here because it costs so little.

Other things like music competitions are far better uses of my time. Unlike the zero sum game of auditions, at least I get something for entering comps even if it's a synth preset. Were you in any way responsible? Only you can work that out for yourself.

Bye.

Don't let likes, auditions and turn downs define who you are.Thats life and there will be
a lot of let downs a long the way.The key is -what are you gonna do about it?Buckle up or buckle down?

I feel your pain, Andrew. It's hard not to take things personally. I've spent countless hours on auditions only to be rejected or not even given a response. I've had others contact me privately to say they don't like my style or my voice...and you know what? That's okay because I've found a way to not let others' truth bring me down. Morgan already revealed my secret, but allow me to stress his point. Leaving is the worst thing you can do because then they win. No, the best way to rebound and insulate yourself from others opinions is to write a good song and then do it again and again and again... As you know, it's impossible to make everyone happy all the time, but we can make ourselves happy by serving up the heat all day, every day and then some. Don't give up on auditions either. Creating your own projects is very important. If you have a good project on the burner, having one or more auditions get rejected won't be such a big deal. Even a rejected audition can at least be a learning experience.

I can echo Ryan and Morgan’s sentiments - having someone say they don’t want to use the part you’ve auditioned is painful, especially when you’ve spent time working on it and I doubt there are many here who have not had that happen to them. But, that is just the way it goes, we all hear different things and sometimes what we think is great, others don’t like. You just have to use it as a learning curve - and ultimately it will help you become a better musician. Like Ryan says, create your own projects to get ‘your’ music style out there and as Morgan says ”what do you want to do, buckle up or  buckle down”.
