Doesn't this sort of contradict the notion of being an Indie (That stands for independent, right?...) artist.
For the most part, the rest of this article resonates with me. The idea of proper marketing and taking the business aspect to your music is really important for actually making money on your music, especially in todays severely over saturated music market. I've never been able to make a profit to this day so, I'm trying to take that more seriously and learn what I can do to spread and promote my music.
I've actually been really interested in writing music for games, since gaming is the largest, most profitable media market in the world, totally eclipsing Music/Movies/TV/Books. I think composing game sound tracks and expanding into sound design might be the most lucrative option, for me anyways. :)
