That is terrific, Tim - if you do decide to create something & need a singer, please let me know. :)

Oh for sure, it's such a wonderful cause. After the challenge is over, I'm going to focus on getting a song done for Sing Me a Story. It would be so awesome if we can work together on it. :)

From their About Us page - Our mission is to bring a voice to voiceless children throughout the world. The imagination of children who have fallen victim to circumstance has the power to capture what is common and pure in us all. In conjunction with music, which has the ability to carry those messages across borders, stigmas and stereotypes, we hope to further an understanding that we're ultimately all the same. Such an understanding could foster greater compassion, healing and peace throughout the world.
"We work with our partner organizations to give children in need the opportunity to write and illustrate stories about anything they want. We then distribute those stories to songwriters who turn them into songs and send them back to the kids".
Here's how it works -
1. Children involved with organizations serving children in need are given the opportunity to write and illustrate stories about ANYTHING they want.
2. Those stories are then distributed to our SMAS Songwriters through our website, http://www.SingMeAStory.org , who view the stories, turn them into songs based on the ideas presented in the stories, record them and send them back to the children by uploading them back to the site.
3. SMAS Jukebox Campaigns are then created for each song uploaded in an effort to raise money for the Partnering Organizations and Sing Me a Story. When fans contribute to the SMAS Jukebox Campaigns, they receive the song as an Mp3 with their donation receipt.
Here are their FAQs - http://singmeastory.org/about/faqs
I joined a few days ago and found a few stories that I’d like to make into songs. There are quite a few stories that need music, but you can also write new songs for stories that already have songs.
I hope others here will be interested in this wonderful concept. Hit me up if you want to work together on one of the stories. :)
