Project Summary

Description: I'm looking to a simple 1950's song for the ProCollabs challenge. In the spirit of the genre, there a are a few things that would be 'nice to have' to help keep the recording process simple.

Project brief: I'm inspired by two particular songs. These are jumping off points -- not requirements. "All Shook Up" - Elvis Presley Surfer Rock styles a la Duane Eddy I can provide guitar. If you can provide these instruments, here are some notes/suggestions: Bass: Looking for a simple 1-4-5-7 blues or surfer rock type bass-line groove (For surfer rock, more of a 1-4-5 form) Drum: I am open to any styles, but a 'shuffle' by default Vocals: I trust your judgement. Also if you need to tweak lyrics to make it work, please do! Just keep me in the loop on any changes you make. Recording/production style: I am open to any styles, but a jumping off point would be something that sounds like a ribbon-tape microphone. Saturation and clipping is preffered to give it that 'raw' sound. For mixing vocals: Ideally (again, not required, just really nice to have) it'd be nice to have it sound like this was a full band recorded in the same room on one take. (Listen to Elvis' Sun Recording takes for an idea of what I mean) I did not originally have a 'big band sound, however, if you have a bluesy growly saxophone to add in (a la "Forty Miles of Bad Road" - Eddy Cochrane), by all means take a shot at it! If you have any other suggestions please message me. Looking forward to working with you!
