Project Summary

Description: This is a lyric i wrote about a man who was viewed by his teachers as a "broken brain", was working in a crane, and became one of the world´s most successful authors.

Project brief: I want my lyric to be performed in a melancholic, reflective and ultimately hopeful manner. I want you i.e, the musicians and/or vocalists to play and sing with meaning. Technical proficiency is very desirable, but, above all, i´m looking for someone who is willing to consistently improve his/her skills and preserve my lyric´s soul, while, at the same time, providing new insight and, perhaps, even giving lyrical suggestions.

Lyrics

Don´t fear the storm, just enjoy the rain, catch the Cruel train, he who is depressed just happens to be the brightest brain, but workin´on a crane, just had life goin´ through the drain, and there´s a man i would love you to know, his name is Draxler Crow, he used to write like Stieg Larsson, ´n´ be live with Johnny Carson, now he´s Blue an´ sees his life as one massive thing needin´ glue, he was a writer ´n´ poet who was skint, yet about to have his life immortalized in print Chorus His work was meant to be a quirk, he never went with the flow, his work was sober ´n´ yet he made it glow, as a child he had teachers callin´ him a broken brain, now they see their lives goin´ through the drain, they can only wish they had his intellectual strain. Verse 2 Well the written word was his gift, ´n´ from poverty to glam ´n´ glitz he took a lift, but you know, fame is something that makes you tame, now he spends his days writin´ books while gettin´ meals from his cooks, yet fame is such a state of lame, ´n´ he has no one else to blame, a spot in history he did claim Repeat Chorus Verse 3 He lost the chance of a night time flight that was not a plight, he should have just enjoyed the rain, his safe job with the crane, for the storm was yet to be born, he´s got his old life to mourn, a life within the norm, now he has colleges with his name on their dorm. His dreams took their form, but he´d trade them for a life workin´shifts in the morn Verse 4 His story has been told, you can now choose between safe ´n´ bold, but be aware, almost no one wants to dare, steppin´ foot out your home, makin´ everyone stare, that´s the story of Draxler Crow, who paid the price for brains to grow, ´n´ didn´t get a chance to end his life like a normal man livin´ in an apartment ´n´ drivin´ a mini van, it wasn´t meant to be, the rest of his life is somethin´ we´ll have to see.
