Lizzie Goes to Hell
Lizzie Borden Took an axe
And gave her mother forty whacks
When she saw what she had done
She gave her father forty-one
Lizzie was a peculiar girl
In 1860 she was born into the world
She had a sister named Emma
And a mom named Sarah
Andrew was her father
But all that doesn’t matter
Ya see Sarah passed away when Lizzie was 3
Soon after that Andrew found new company
Abby Gray was the new woman in his life
Shortly after that she became his lovely wife
Lizzie wasn’t too happy about that
She had a bad feeling her stepmom was a rat
Only marrying Andrew for his money
The Borden girls didn’t find that at all funny
Lizzie Borden Took an axe
And gave her mother forty whacks
When she saw what she had done
She gave her father forty-one
After teaching Sunday school one day
Lizzie returned home but to her dismay
A horrifying sight through the window of her kitchen
Her father hacking at her precious pet pigeons
She silently screamed overwhelmed and feeling sad
She was really mad and wanted to do something bad to her dad
Come on, can you blame her?
Hold tight little one, the story gets even stranger
Lizzie Borden Took an axe
And gave her mother forty whacks
When she saw what she had done
She gave her father forty-one
For years & years resentment filled Lizzie’s heart
Emma wasn’t happy either, the whole family was falling apart
It was August 4th 1892, a beautiful Fall River day, that much was true
Abby was thought to be in the room upstairs making her bed
When Lizzie walked in, she found her quite dead
Slumped over the chair, her bloody body did lay
Bludgeoned by a hatchet, or at least that’s what they say
Lizzie remembered her father had been napping
She ran down to the sitting room to tell him what happened
To her horror she was met by a gruesome gore
Her father had been hacked his blood splattered on the floor
Dazed and confused Lizzie ran in a panic
When police arrived they didn’t find her acting manic
Instead she was cool, calm, collected and fine
Her story kept changing so they knew that she was lying
Cuffed, arrested, accused, then acquitted
Lizzie never paid for the crimes that she committed
Lizzie Borden Took an axe
And gave her mother forty whacks
When she saw what she had done
She gave her father forty-one
Years later Lizzie changed her name to Lizbeth
Lived a full life as an old maid until her death
Nine days later her sister Emma died as well
Reunited again, their souls shall rest in hell
Lizzie Borden Took an axe
And gave her mother forty whacks
When she saw what she had done
She gave her father forty-one
Lizzie Borden got away
For her crime she did not pay
The story goes, if she ever finds you,
She’d surely give you 42.
