Mirror Mirror
Trapped inside a worn-out make-up bag.
Without her mask, the little princess thought she look so drab
And there she'd hide, the voices echoed through her mind.
Little Brother crushed her heart the day she turned 13
They say her mother sucked the life out of her self-esteem.
But standing in the mirror, she created something unfamiliar.
Finding hope and solace in the face of woman she'd never seen.
A fairy tail of broken dreams, then she became a beauty queen,
and no one in the world could mock her now.
Mirror, Mirror on the wall, am I beautiful.
Mirror, Mirror on the wall, will I rise or will I fall.
(Will they notice me at all)
How she adored those flawless magazines.
The shameless eyes, the lucid lines of symmetry
Bedazzled by perfection. Subjugated by her own reflection
but she was, still a girl in a tower on a hill of fantasy.
It doesn't matter when or how, beauty was her master now.
The beast inside is never satisfied.
Mirror, Mirror on the wall, am I beautiful.
Mirror, Mirror standing tall, will I rise or will I fall.
Then one lonely night she cried. calling God right to her side.
With a tender heart, He knelt down and showed her how she could be an ogre - and still be beautiful inside.
Mirror, Mirror...
