I'm 67 years old keyboard player, sadly now in a wheelchair (after breaking my back falling off a my narrow boat when both p*ssed and more than a little "happy" (in need of munchies if you get my drift) - but I am most certainly not a spent force. I have designed my studio so that I can produce work of high broadcast quality. I've been a user of Cubase for over 15 years and have recently upgraded from Cubase 3 to Cubase 10.5 Pro - what a learning curve. I use the Behringer flagship mixer the X32/32 - an awesome bit of kit.
I have always found that I work better with others when composing and/or recording. I'm not that financially motivated but, if the opportunity comes along, I have my own registered label and worldwide distribution agreements. Having said that, I'm a stickler when it comes to copyright - for me and anyone I'm working with - it's only fair really.
I've played with a number of groups in my life, sometimes as a member, sometimes as a session player. The last group I was with (Thin Ice - Pink Floyd Cover band) shared the stage (and tour bus ) with Hawkwind - but never really hit the "big time". The day I broke my back, I was invited to play the European let of a tour with a group consisting members of Wings - but, being in hospital, couldn't do it!!
I've got a great voice for silent movies - so am always on the lookout for vocalists who might have ideas they want to progress.
Left to you own devices, I tend to write music that could be described as "Film Score" - or anything else that takes my fancy at the time. I've had some of my more "classical" based compositions played on BBC Radio 3 as part of the 2018 centenary remembrance programs of the end of WW1 (Aftermath).
I'm open to just about any form of collaboration you might be interested in and I'm very keen to help out young up and coming talent if I can.
I hate Simon Cowbell and his like and a lot of the plastic "music" that take about 3 minutes for a computer to compose.
I love making something wonderful out of the ideas of a couple of like minded people.
Prior to breaking my back, I worked as the director of a national computer maintenance company - and often going on site at places such as Nomura Finance and the Stock Exchange.
