My name is Cameron and I've been searching for a place to find and contribute to collaborations! So far I've put vocals down on one track and it was a lot of fun! Anyways I've been learning music on my own here and there for around 6 years and it's just an awesome skill to possess! I'm curios to find out how many people get started in music early versus a little bit later in life!?

Hello there, Cameron!
My name is Dani, welcome to the site. :)
Great question... I'm a vocalist/lyricist, and play a bit of Ukulele. Ever since I was a little girl I sang, it just came naturally - I loved to make up lyrics too, especially parodies.
But it wasn't until I was a young adult that I started creating my own music. I found a music program called Ejay and it allowed me to put together loops & samples - I was so intrigued by it because I didn't play any instruments (except for the clarinet in grade school). But with this software, I was able to create some pretty awesome instrumentals, then decided to start writing some lyrics for them. Turned out great and was fun, but I was bored after a while - I wanted to work with other artists.
Thanks to the internet I found online collaboration sites. Once I started working with other musicians, it was like a door opened up for me. I was amazed by the idea, and once I started participating, I never turned back.
8 years later, I'm still at it! I have improved soooo much and have worked with hundreds of musicians, without ever having to leave my house. It still amazes me how it all works, but I'm darn grateful it does. :)

Hello Cameron I am Tom.
Music was always in my life. My father and his brother were in the business. So I grew up with a ton of music but, didn't get really serious until I was well past thirty. I guess if I'm going to have a mid-life crisis, music isn't that bad of a choice.
As to this being a small world, I actually met Dani on another site many years ago. I think she is great as a musician and a person. I am very happy to have been told about this site and join. I write, mix and play on all types of music. I hope we can work together one day on somethings.
