Greetings, my name is John Heavern, from Charlotte, N.C. . I currently have 5 music demos, three of which are videos on youtube. Music for demos created by paid musicians, lyrics & videos created by myself. Youtube link available here. Demos are country, my influences: Roger Waters, Neil Peart, Freddie Mercury, Tommy Shaw.
I have over 175 complete lyrical poems of various subject matter and disposition I best describe as: "Lyrical poetry of observational introspection", designed to accompany mostly 4/4 & 6/8musical composition and be “song-friendly”, complete with verses, repeating chorus and bridges. A lot of it’s pretty deep stuff, some humor and love as well. I feel my lyrics lend themselves to country, rock, blues, some ballads, folk. Something to say is never an issue! My demos are country but I am not. I enjoy writing to rock tracks. Rock was the catalyst that brought all this to fruition and flows through my soul and into my words almost naturally.
THIS IS NOT A HOBBY
It is my goal to find that musical ying to my lyrical yang, make the living my/our gift deserves and quit my day job! I have spent thousands of hours and dollars on this obsession, time for it to pay off. Are you in?
