Music makes me happy as well as money. I studied tabla and briefly, the South Indian violin and played harmonica growing up. I picked up the guitar in my teens and in India that changes everything. Went through rock n roll and an initiation into the blues, funk, the 'Dead' and jazz in University. Spent eight years in the music business in Mumbai, where I discovered production. Picked up the trumpet. I divide my time now between composing-arranging and studying, singing and playing jazz.
I use a Martin XC1T Ellipse steel string acoustic guitar as my primary composing tool. I have a Godin Seagull steel 12 string acoustic guitar, a 1991 Fender Strtocaster electric guitar and a D'Alberto Les Paul electric guitar. I have a fine hand crafted Indian mandolin, a Karl Knilling violin, a Yamaha YTR 1335 Bb trumpet and a set of Chinese blues harps.
I use a MOTU soundcard, ART Tube Preamps, a RøDE NT3 condensor, A Pyle Pro PDKM7 drum mic set, Shure SM57/58 dynamic microphones and a licensed version of Ableton Live running on a MacBook Pro.
I play and record guitar, mandolin, violin, harmonica, trumpet and shakers and percussion (wood block/clave/cajon). My rates are $200 for a song for one instrument, $350 for 2 and $400 for three of more. My rates are flexible.
