Lost In A Holidaze
Remember when life was simple?
I used to love this time of year
Before we gave up sleep
To sacrifice our credit
By waiting in long lines
Hoping we won't regret it
I miss the days when we had nothing
Except each other's company
Now we pass the time glued to mobile devices
Browsing search results to find the lowest prices
I'm in a holidaze
Lost in a holidaze
To divide and conquer
We go our separate ways
As elevator music
Shifts in and out of phase
Hungover from my food coma
Every faint aroma
Makes crowded aisles start to spin around me
Until threats reach a crescendo
And fists strike out of tempo
For the last sale items mobs can see
We have to leave
Please
Cause I can’t breathe
Once you start the car
My pulse feels less erratic
Heading home at last
While dozing off in traffic
God bless us everyone
